On the afternoon of July 25, Vice Dean Li Ming chaired a review of undergraduate exam papers and graduation theses for the summer of 2024 at our school, with all members of the Teaching Committee in attendance. This review followed a preliminary assessment conducted in June, which included feedback from departments and self-assessments, and serves as a critical step in preparation for the Ministry of Education’s evaluation. Department heads selected a sample of exam papers from July 2022 to July 2024, as well as several graduation theses from the past three years, for inspection as per Dean Li’s directives.
All committee members approached the review with diligence, and meticulously examined each paper and thesis. Key concerns included the accuracy of grade calculations and entries, adherence to standards for foreign language content, and formatting details such as font size, grading marks and binding style. After two hours of intensive work, the review concluded without identifying any major issues. Minor problems will be addressed by the respective departments for further rectification.
Exam papers and theses are vital indicators of teaching outcomes, and their review is an essential measure for ensuring quality at the school. This process provided valuable insights into the teaching conditions across departments and the progress of self-assessment efforts, offering strong evidence for future improvements and the advancement of evaluation work. Moving forward, the school will continue to implement the policy of using evaluation to promote construction, reform, management, and improvement. In addition, the school will maintain regular monitoring of overall teaching quality, and continuously enhance educational standards and the quality of talent cultivation.
